I guess my job here is to find some points of interest in what was a pretty forgettable 0-0 draw, writes Mike Wallis.

Let’s start with some positives:

• The full 90 minutes got played. The floodlights stayed on for the whole second half and the pitch didn’t become waterlogged!

• The Rooks didn’t fall to a pretty miserable defeat like we have in the last three (completed) league games in East Brighton Park.

• We had chances. Noel Fisher hit the post in the first half, Bassett squared a ball across goal which Newson couldn’t quite get on the end of and Tom Bender’s long throws are just great.

• Danny Bassett had (IMO) his best game since his return from suspension and looks to be getting back towards his best.

And then some other stuff:

• I know we’ve gone on about this before but, Whitehawk’s ground is still a right state. The “covered” end is now the “almost half covered” end as most of the sheeting on top of the scaffolding has gone.

• The penalty area at the bottom of the hill had what looked like a golf course bunker in it and the pitch in general was so bobbly putting more than two passes together was a challenge.

• Quite why this match needed several SECURITY types carrying metal detectors and handcuffs I’m not sure.

• Whitehawk had one cleared off the line, according to the linesman, the view of the far goal from the bottom of the hill not being good enough for me to see for myself what had happened.

• And for some reason there was a drone hovering over the ground for most of the game. You can make your own joke about which player the Southampton manager was scouting.

Overall, I’m not sure anyone will be remembering this one at the end of the season.
